ANTH 100 Washington State University Anthropology and Genetics Discussion
This week, we have learned a lot about how humans vary (and do not!) around the world. We have also learned about how sociological race can affect biology. Some anthropologists today think that we should study differences between people with different “ancestries” to better understand past patterns of migration and today’s health disparities. Other anthropologists suggest that differences based on ancestry are just another way of perpetuating ideas about biological race and related racist ideas that there are innate differences between people of different races. In this paper, you will evaluate whether “ancestry” is a useful concept when it comes to studying human genetics, to better understand health disparities or migration histories, or whether it just perpetuates the idea that race has a biological basis in humans. You probably are already coming to this conversation with some ideas about biological race and about ancestry. That’s fine. What you need to do, however, is put that aside and think like a scientist – or if not a scientist, a lawyer. What does the evidence say? What is the most defensible argument given that evidence?BEFORE YOU START, SOME GUIDELINES:Think like a lawyer or a scientist: providing opinions is not the same thing as providing evidence. If you provide an opinion, you must provide evidence to back it up.I realize that talking about ancestry and about race can be difficult, and that there are many talking points out there for both. I am not asking you to reiterate talking points, however; I are asking you to think for yourself. You may not use direct quotes from the assigned chapter and article. When you reference the articles, you must paraphrase and use in-text citations. If you are not sure how to paraphrase, check out this interactive game (Links to an external site.) for an overview.STEP ONE. Read the following chapter and article:1. Saini, A. NiCSNSMT Ethics in Technical Communication Essay
In this week's readings, we've looked at why technical writing should strive to be factually accurate and avoid illegally using other entities' materials. Consider this, however: Might there be a situation where an aspect of a technical communication (be it speech, email, manual, etc.) could be unethical but not result in anything illegal?Think of such a situation, and write 2-3 paragraphs (each being at least 3 sentences each) describing the situation, and discussing why or why not that unethical behavior should still be avoided in technical work. Your document should:Be 12 pt, Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, double spaced.Be 2-3 paragraphs long (with a minimum of 3 sentences per paragraph).

Globalization essay
In recent decades, the emergence of global economic, political, environmental, and cultural interconnections has greatly impacted people, companies, and nations regionally and in different parts of the world. Consider, for instance, the following mission statement: "Partnerships International, Inc. periodically brings together industry and government in a collegial and informative setting in order to enhance the U.S.'s abilities and presence throughout the global marketplace, and to promote our continuous growth and development in that competitive, demanding and dynamic environment" (Partnerships International, Inc., 2014). There are financial implications associated with the emergence of global partnerships and globalization in general. In this Discussion, you consider some of these. The Assignment 1-1.5 pages must include: Post an explanation of the financial benefits and limitations of global partnerships. Provide specific evidence of one positive or one negative impact of globalization on a government organization. Be sure to support your posting and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources. Resources Mikesell, J. L. (2018).
