Information Technology Specialist Career
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Computer technology has not only been disruptive to approaches used by different firms
to engage in business, but it has also increased the range of employment opportunities available
to the current generation of learners. Essentially, different companies need a significant number
of capable employees to facilitate in the management and implementation of various information
technology projects. They need employees to ensure that they are well protected from possible
internet threats, in addition to providing viable solutions to some of the issues they encounter
while using the computer technology. The demand for such professionals is therefore directly
proportional to the extent to which a firm intends to automate its processes and the risks involved
in the handling of the data available within these firms.
However, evolution in the technology sector does not take away the necessity for
competence within the profession, which explains the need for effective education and
evaluation of the possible employees to fill the specialist position. To some organizations, one
may need to have some level of experience, while others simply look at the basic qualifications
such as university education and the ability to use various computer languages. Ultimately,
anyone wishing to fill a position in an IT specialist capacity should make an effort to acquire
such qualifications. After all, Paul’s letter to Timothy in the Holy Scripture highlighted the
importance of diligence and proper and shameless workmanship.
