Anatomy is a branch of science that deals with the study of human structures, animal structures,
plant structures, and the structures of other living organisms. Anatomy can be classified as human
anatomy which deals with the study of the human body and its structures and comparative anatomy
which deals with the study of the diversity and similarity of living organisms. There is also a subclassification of anatomy which includes; the microscopic anatomy which deals with the use of a
microscope to study the structures of the living organism, and the gross anatomy in which the eyes
are used to observe and to examine the structures of living organisms.
Anatomy is significant as it instills skills and knowledge which are later used in imaging diagnosis,
imaging technique interpretation and the physical examination of the anatomical structures. Study
of anatomy also gives the understanding in the determination of injuries and management of
injuries mainly in trauma.
Patients’ advocacy is an area of specialization with the aim of support, listening, and care of
patients, survivors, and carers. Patients’ advocacy is important as it helps to control a patient’s life
through finding ways of averting complications which may be as a result of food allergies or other
health problems. It is also important as it helps in the understanding of a patient’s feeling and likes
