Globalization and Complexity: While markets growing globally make supply chains
more intersect and involve many stakeholders to be spread across governments, companies
may face more complex tasks to successfully balance the interrelationships of many different
people and territories. The elements of coordination, communication and issues of risk
management emerge. Supply chain managers wade through the complexities of overseeing
diverse supply networks, crossing trade borders, general compliance and the disparities in
standards only to keep the moving wheels of distribution.
Supply Chain Disruptions: Disruptions like natural disasters, political tensions,
bankruptcy of suppliers, and transport delays are risks to a supply chain relationship that can
cause a crisis. Such disruptions often result in delayed productions, out-of-stock inventory
problems, increasing costs, and, eventually, resentful customers. Integrated global supply
chains tend to be more vulnerable to disruptions. Thus, the imperative that companies adopt
effective risk management strategies to limit the effects of disruptions is very high today.
Demand Volatility and Forecasting Accuracy: Rapid market fluctuations due to
modifications in market conditions, customers' needs, and external matters create a good
amount of issues in production planning, as well as the management of the inventory.
Incorrect demand forecasting can produce hold-ups of excess inventory, stockouts, and sales
opportunity loss. The ability to forecast demand is vital to optimizing inventory levels by
reducing the costs of tying up capital in inventory while still meeting customers' expectations.

Inventory Management Complexity: Balancing inventory levels to fulfil customer
demands and minimize costs related to carrying them in the storage place and stockouts is a
