The Federal Reserve refers to the Central Bank of the United States that was formed in
the year 1913. It is also called to as Fed and has a role in controlling inflation by monitoring the
supply of money in the economy. The government of the United States, therefore, uses the
Federal Reserve as a tool for regulating the amount of money. However, the institution is
independent because it can make decisions without the need for the government to intervene. Fed
