Task consists of 2 parts: 1) Compiling a research plan that would solve a marketing (or other) problem posed by the student (e.g. customer satisfaction survey; measuring brand success; opinion research about a social topic; new product launch; or anything else you find interesting, related to your hobbies etc). 2) After you’ve described the research plan, you should compile a questionnaire that would help find answers to the research problem. The length of the questionnaire should be at least 2 pages. You do not have to conduct the research but you should make pilot/test interviews (1 pilot interview) to find out how long will the interview last and whether everything was clear for the respondent. I RESEARCH PLAN (1-3 pages) 1. Description of the research objective / problem - why is this information needed, what kind of business decisions could be made based on this, why does it interest you? 2. Description of the target group (e.g age group, geographical location, occupation, client status, experience with the product/service etc) and how it’s appropriate for solving the research problem 3. Description of interviewing method and why it fits to the target group – what kind of questionnaire you plan to use (online, paper, CAPI) and how will it reach to the respondents (e-mail invitations, personal interviewing, phone interviews etc). Why do you think it works and is suitable for your respondents? 4. Choice and justification of the sample size and sampling method - how many interviews would you plan to achieve, how to recruit respondents or how and from where to get their contacts? 5. Plan for conducting the research and other details - timetable, interviewers, who will analyse the data, questionnaire length etc. That is – all aspects that influence the research budget. II QUESTIONNAIRE (2-4 pages) 6. Introduction / addressing the respondent – politeness, motivation, all important things have been included. 7. Appropriate questions (including background questions) that are in line with the research objective 8. Wording and clarity of the questions 9. Technical details of the questionnaire: order of questions, filters (e.g. not all respondents reply all questions), guidelines for interviewer/respondent, numbered questions and answer options) 10. Aesthetics of the questionnaire (grammar, layout) 1. Research objective / problem : - Satisfaction of the Facebook's customers because of the big privacy scandal. Reliability of Facebook Whether the problem is privacy or negligence? How they should work and improve their situation? Don’t copy the professional market research – so do it yourself! Don’t copy standard customer feedback sheets! Sources: 1. "I started this place, I run it," Zuckerberg said during a call with reporters on Wednesday. "I'm responsible for what happened here."
