Write a two to four (2-4) page paper in which you:

The 9/11 attack was a wake-up call to many organizations and government agencies on
the way they prepare themselves for disasters, as well as how they recovery thereafter. There
were serious gaps in what firms had been doing all along regarding disaster management before
9/11 and afterward. Several lessons were learned from the incident, and there have been many
improvements in the recent years (Wiek, 2015). Moreover, the tragedy gave more justification to
increased expenditures, initiatives, and recovery-based objectives in many organizations as they
seek to enhance their disaster recovery capabilities. The current paper seeks to examine how 9/11
shaped the landscape of disaster recovery.
After 9/11, organizations' IT departments increased their demands for resources to
develop disaster recovery plans and technology. Whereas at the time the primary area of concern
was fighting terrorist and natural tragedies, the field has gradually broadened into such domains
