Introduction
Arguably, crime can be regarded as an innate part of any society in the world. Society
would not be complete if we did not have criminals (Finckenauer, 2007). While several lawenforcement bodies have been developed to take care of crime, it is apparent that lawbreaking
cannot be entirely done away with due to various loopholes. This can be explained by the fact
that people in a society find themselves doing things which they do not consider as wrong.
However, due to the set rules which keep the society running, they find themselves answering
charges having been identified to be the cause of social disorder. The author of this paper will
focus on the problems when dealing with organized crime as well as the legal limitations of
organized crime. A critique of the existing laws and their ineffectiveness in solving OC will be
expounded. The last section of the paper will provide realistic solutions to the presenting
problems.
What is Organized Crime?
Finckenauer (2007) defines organized crime as the activity of criminal to use violence
and their reputation in disrupting peace and form a monopoly of crime society within the
community. Organized Crime, often shortened to OC has different meaning across different
countries. However, it is apparent that we must find one type of crime in one country or another.
Organized crime is a problem in different societies. It is evident that the kind of crime which
occurred sometime back is not the same since it has evolved overtime at a high rate.
