descriptions for positions you are looking to fill at Trident Emergency Care Center (TECC). In
creating the two descriptions, remember the TECC organizational demographics from Module 1
SLP:

The three-top health related issues within a 30-mile radius of TECC are obesity, diabetes,

Trident Emergency Care Center (TECC) is looking to fill the positions of physician and Home
Health Aide to support in the effective delivery of health services to elderly populations suffering
from obesity, diabetes, and cancer. While delivering services to the patients, Physician and
Home Health Aide will be required to be in compliance with TECC mission and vision
statements.
Job Description for Physician
Reporting To
The physician will be reporting to senior medical officer relating to the medical and
health progress of their patients.
Job Overview
TECC is looking for a responsible and quality-oriented physician to offer high-quality
medical care by checking and examining patients' conditions and treating diseases. The physician
will also perform tasks geared at promotion and prevention of health habits. The job is one of the
most hectic and demanding, but it is also one of the most rewarding jobs. For one to qualify for
this specific position, one must be knowledgeable in relation to epidemiology, etiology, and
other medical conditions for patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, and obesity.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a physician include undertaking regular and routine check-ups to
their patients and assess their medical and health conditions in order to discover possible issues.
He or she will be responsible for offering reliable and appropriate health care advice pertaining
healthy habits such as diet, hygiene, and preventive actions to enhance overall health (Anderson

et al, 2017). He or she will also conduct examinations to their patients and evaluate signs and
symptoms in order to determine their conditions. The physician will be required to keep records
of their patients' diseases, operations, and other crucial medical information that will be used for
reference.
Duties
The duties of the physician include creating and recommending a plan for treatment for
their patients. He or she conducts regular updates on patient's medical data and charts to depict
current findings and treatments. He or she answers concerns and questions raised by the patients
regarding their health and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for the position, one must have at least completed an undergraduate
medical degree course and medical residency, three years of clinical experience in providing
primary care, BLS certificate required, excel written and oral communication, excellent
knowledge of cancer, obesity, diabetes, their epidemiology, and symptoms (Anderson et al,
2017). He or she must be responsible, compassionate, trustworthy, and approachable.
Job description for Home Health Aide
Reporting To
Home Health Aide will be reporting to Home Health Aide's supervisor concerning the
health and medical progress of the patients at their homes.

TECC is looking to hire a trustworthy, responsible, and quality-oriented Home Health
Aide. The job is very demanding and it requires someone who can understand the situations
faced by his or her patients.
Duties
The duties of a Home Health Aide include monitoring patient's medical and health
conditions, exercise, and intake and output. Support patients by offering personal services such
as grooming, bathing, and dressing. He or she offers their patients with laundry and
housekeeping services, running errands, and preparing meals (Boris & Klein, 2015). He or she
records the patient's medical progress in journals. Also, he will be responsible for maintaining a
secure, safe, and healthy environment for the patients. Help patient's family members with
required nutritional intakes, cleanliness, re-position, and housekeeping.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of Home Health Aide include enabling their patients to stay in their
homes by recording and monitoring patients' condition, offering personal and support services,
and teaching family members on how to take care of the patients. He or she will be responsible
for helping patients in undertaking physical therapy exercises and administering medication
based on orders from doctors. He or she maintains home care records that include changes in
diets, eating habits, and doctor's orders.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for the job, one must have; 3 years of experience in offering effective
nursing skills, excel in written and verbal communication, good listening skills, emotional stable

and control, effective environmental management, and health maintenance and promotion. He or
she must also be outgoing, compassionate, and reliable.
Summary
Importance of position/role at TECC
In delivering effective and reliable care to the target populations of the elderly
communities suffering from cancer, diabetes, and obesity, the roles of Home Health Aide and
Physician are very important (Boris & Klein, 2015). After physician providing medical care to
the patients, the roles of Home Health Aide is basically to offer after-medication services such as
maintaining a secure, safe, and healthy environment for the patients. To effectively utilize the
roles of both positions, TECC needs to encourage collaboration between Home Health Aide and
physician.
The positions enable the organization to meet the needs of the patients in time and
safeguard extra expenses and cost incurred by the patients. With the use of services offered by
Home Health Aide, TECC will be in a position to address the immediate needs of the patients.
Hence, it helps to boost the level of satisfaction and loyalty of the patients towards the
organization (Boris & Klein, 2015). The positions also enable the organization to address
feedback and responses from the patients in time. Therefore, it boosts the corporate image and
reputation of the organization. The positions also enable TECC to improve reliability and
effectiveness of care delivery.

The job descriptions have huge value regarding staffing needs at TECC. The job
descriptions not only enable the organization to attract skilled manpower but also it allows
potential applicants to understand the job expectations and demands. It also enables supervisors
to coach their subjects in order improve their performance (Boris & Klein, 2015). It allows
potential recruits and current employees to evaluate the physical aspects of the job and the
environment they will be working in. It is also used to minimize conflicts of interests between
current employees and those who are recruited.
