plays an integral role. With the current competitive business environment, a company ought to
have a strong market-oriented mission statement. For an organization to have a strong marketoriented mission statement, the mission statement must direct the focus of the organization by
defining where the business is headed, the achievement which the business wants to achieve and
a clear purpose of the business. Importantly, this mission statement ought to focus on the
consumer of the products and not the product. As such, identifying key markets and collecting
