Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic triggered widespread changes in the way businesses operate,
with one of the most significant being the rapid adoption of remote work. Many organizations,
especially in technology-driven sectors, quickly shifted to remote operations to ensure business
continuity. The three-sphere model of systems management, which examines changes through
the lenses of business, technology, and organizational spheres, is useful in understanding the
impacts and challenges related to this transition. This paper will explore the key issues stemming
from the adoption of remote work policies using this model.
Business Sphere
From a business perspective, the transition to remote work introduced new opportunities
and challenges. One primary benefit was the potential for cost savings. Many companies reduced
expenses related to office space, utilities, and on-site amenities. However, these cost savings
were offset by the need to invest in new technology and infrastructure for remote work.
Businesses provided employees with laptops, ergonomic furniture, and stipends for home office
