‘The Good Earth’
The novel is based on a main character who goes by the name Wang Lung. The character is a
young farmer in a rural area that is based in China. The novel takes place during a time when
Chinese is characterized by signs of modernization however even when this happens the people
are still accustomed to their customs and traditions which they abide to. The novel goes along and
takes us to a time whereby Wang Lung is thought to be fit for marriage. His father is not restless
