Several events can be attributed to causing World War 1. The first major cause is
Imperialism. Before the war, Britain still had an Empire same as most of the other European
nations (Goemans, H. E. (2012). The jealous among these nations as they wanted a piece of the
action caused tension between them resulting to war. It’s also important to note that a decade
prior to the war almost all the great powers in Europe were involved in an arms race so as to
control oversea colonies. For instance, Britain was involved in a naval arms race with the
