Classroom management is essential for successful learning in diversified environments
(Everston & Emmer, 2013). The 7th grade classroom profile has thirty students. The students are
of different races and origin, White, Native American, Hispanics, Caucasians, Asians and
African Americans with different socioeconomic status and levels of parental involvement. The
students have various abilities with some being years below or above the grade level in reading
and math performance. The age of two students is one year above grade level with one being one
year below grade level age. Arturo, Diana, Eduardo, and Fatma are English Language Learners.
Fredrick, Ines, Wayne, and Wendell are on Learning Disabled IEP while Kent is on Emotionally
Disabled IEP. This benchmark paper presents a classroom management plan and a
communication management plan to promote the academic success of students in the class.
Part 1: Classroom Management Plan
Classroom management refers to different skills and techniques teachers employ to keep
the students focused, organized, stay on task, attentive, orderly and academically productive in
class (Everston & Emmer, 2013). A classroom management plan enhances student engagement
and motivation. It provides an effective learning environment for diversified learners. It ensures
a safe and comfortable learning environment. A classroom with set rules and expectations runs
smoothly and is free of incidences such as bullying fellow students. The students are aware of
the schedule, stay organized and focused on achieving academic success.
Strategies to motivate and engage collaboration among peers are promoting a loving and
respectful culture. Develop a classroom culture that is welcoming and accepts students from
diverse backgrounds (Hester, 2013). Encourage the students to appreciate unique nature and
