Decision making is a crucial step that can make or break a company (Ford & Richardson,
2013). Decisions need to be made and channeled properly for effective outcomes. In a company,
one must remember that they work together with other people and therefore the decisions they
affect not only affect them but other team players as well. It is for this reason therefore that
decisions are made based people’s strengths and weaknesses so as to elevate their strengths and
not put them in a compromising situation. Team decision making therefore becomes the process
through which teams come up with a method to execute tasks based on each other’s strengths
that in turn affects the choices their make as a team.
Team Environment
The environment in which the team is working in affects their ability to come up with
decisions and consequently the ability to effectively work well. The environment therefore needs
to be conducive for the team to work well. The environment goes beyond the physical workspace
into the attitudes people have as well as the communication channels. All team members need to
