Healthcare fraud engages three distinct aspects namely, the health insurance fraud, drug
fraud and medical fraud. Of the recent trends, the number of reported cases of health care fraud
in the department of justice has been noted to have an increased. Of the latest case, two allied
companies, Benevis and Kool Dental Clinic were found guilty of committing health care fraud.
These two jointly ventured health organizations have been recently found guilty of defrauding
the US government. Basically, their operations were based on performing unnecessary dentistry
services on children aiming to get finances, rather the benefits from these children who had been
covered by the Medicaid health insurance. Evidently, these two companies were found guilty of
having performed dental operations on children which were regarded as unnecessary. The
claimed operations included pulpotomies, crowning, and extraction. However, some of these
operations never happened but had been claimed to have done.
Health care fraud occurs in the aspect that more often these health care providers submit
claims for services that were never provided. In regard to this, claims not only jeopardize the
health care top leaders but also touch the employees particularly the medical practitioners.
