Background information
The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) is a procedure used to govern civil procedure in
civil lawsuits. The procedure is applicable in United States federal courts or district courts. The
rules in RFCP have also undergone several amendments currently (Cleckley, Davis & Palmer Jr,
2015). The modifications are based on recommendation done by the federal judiciary's internal
policy-making body and Judicial Conference of the United States. 35 out of 50 states in the
United States have adopted the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) as their rules of
procedure. The RFPC was effected in 2006 and completely rewritten and effective by December
1, 2007.
Significant elements of the FRCP
The FRCP has a number of elements used in federal courts to determine the factors to be
considered or checked during a lawsuit. The following are the significant elements in FRCP:
Jurisdiction
The courts use this procedure to determine if it has the legal obligation over the subject matter
and the parties involved.
Venue
