The way in which human beings interact with the environment has been a great concern
to many people across the world. This is mainly because people alter the environment in
different ways like through deforestation, and in so many different ways, the environment affects
us. Therefore, humans influence their environment and on the other hand, the environment
influences us, both in a negative way as well as in a positive way. I do stand by the ‘light green’
approach to the environment which argues that it is part of human nature to cultivate the earth.
However, in the process of cultivating the earth, we ought to recognize the impact that we have
on the earth (Noci, 1997). This earth we live in is endowed with a lot of resources that are to be
of use to humankind. It is wise we engage in proper activities of cultivating the earth and getting
