INTRODACTION:
My colleagues and I went to Al-Andalus Private School to provide interactive activities
for children in the foundation stage. These activities include goals that we wanted to
achieve, which are: developing language and communication skills because the activities
improve children’s communication and language expression skills, enhancing active

learning as interactive activities help children learn through experience and
participation, which increases their understanding of topics and interests, and
developing their motor skills through activities that require movement or coordination
between the eye and hand. This helps children develop their skills significantly, and in
order for them to acquire life and social skills such as cooperation, participation and
problem solving.
LIFE SKILLS AND PROJECT CONTENT:
We did many scientific experiments, competitions, interactive activities and games. One
of the games was the ball collecting game, where each team had a specific color and
went to bring it from the basket containing a group of colors to their team’s basket. The
goal of this game was to enhance learning, attention, the ability to differentiate
between colors and speed as well. It was a fun game for them and many of them
achieved the goal. Another game was the cup arrangement game according to colors,
where each student gets 6 cups of different colors and we put a picture of them trying
to arrange the cups based on them in terms of colors and arrangement. This game
serves the same idea of the previous game. We played another game, which is the
treasure hunt game. It is an interactive and fun game that aims to enhance cooperation,
critical thinking, and problem solving, while encouraging physical activity and social
interaction among children. The treasure is hidden as a game to gain more interaction
from children. Then a series of clues or puzzles are prepared that lead children from one
point to another, until they finally reach the treasure. The clues are simple math
questions, linguistic letters, or even reference signs that require children to think quickly
and in innovative ways. This game helps promote cooperation and teamwork. When
playing in groups, children learn how to cooperate, exchange ideas, and listen to the
opinions of others. These skills are essential in their social development. Also, teaching
problem solving by facing different challenges during the search, children learn how to
think in an organized way to solve problems and make quick decisions. This game
combines entertainment and education, helping children acquire life skills and giving
them the opportunity to learn teamwork and develop their social skills in an
atmosphere of fun and adventure.
We conducted scientific experiments as scientific experiments aim to understand how
things work in the natural world. Through experimentation, hypotheses can be tested
and factors that affect different phenomena can be identified. It also encourages

children to ask questions, analyze and inquire about experiments and makes learning
more interactive and realistic. One of these experiments is the volcano experiment. It is
a fun and simple scientific experiment that shows a chemical reaction between two
substances that leads to an explosion similar to a volcanic eruption. This experiment is
ideal for children to introduce them to scientific concepts such as chemical reactions
and gases. I needed baking powder, vinegar, water, food coloring, a cup and a deep
bowl. The way to prepare it is to place the cup in the middle of the deep plate, then
pour water into it and put food coloring in it. After that, I added two spoons of baking
powder inside the cup. Finally, I added vinegar to the cup. Once the vinegar is added to
the baking powder, bubbles will suddenly start to appear, and the liquid will flow in a
manner similar to a volcanic eruption. You will notice dense bubbles rising from the
container and spreading around it, giving the impression of a lava explosion. This
experiment encourages children to ask questions about why this reaction occurs and
how the experiment can be repeated in different ways. Due to curiosity and a love of
exploration, children can learn how to accurately observe the reaction and predict what
will happen after adding vinegar. This experiment provides a fun time for children and at
the same time provides them with opportunities to learn about chemistry in fun and
easy ways. We received clear admiration from the teachers, school administration and
children in particular, which is the most important thing for us.
By organizing events for children, I have acquired many life skills that contribute to
developing my personality and my ability to interact with others in a positive way. The
most prominent life skills I have acquired are time management by planning activities
and organizing time effectively, and how to balance between different tasks and benefit
from every minute. Patience and endurance. Dealing with children is very difficult for
me, especially in difficult situations. It taught me patience and enhanced my ability to
deal with tense situations calmly. Also, cooperation and teamwork, because if I were
alone, I would have learned with the team to organize the event or group activities, and
I learned how to cooperate, distribute tasks, and work as part of a group to achieve a
common goal. Organizing events for children enhances a wide range of life skills that
contribute to your personal and social development, and makes you more prepared to
face the challenges of daily life.

At the end of our special day at school, where we participated in various useful activities
for children, we would like to express our great happiness with what we gained from
this experience. The activities were a great opportunity to learn valuable life skills, such
as cooperation and teamwork, critical thinking, and problem solving. We were also able
to enhance our communication and interaction skills with others, whether with our
colleagues or with teachers.
Through the activities we did, we also gained self-confidence and the ability to make
sound decisions in different situations. We also learned the importance of time and
organization, and how to benefit from every moment in developing our skills.
These activities were not only a fun experience, but also a practical lesson in how to
apply what we learned in our daily lives. We are excited to continue learning more and
applying the skills we acquired in the future, because we know that they will help us
build our personalities and achieve our goals in life.

Nursery Evacuation procedure:
step 1: Be prepared before any emergency
1. Know the exits: the emergency exits should be known by everyone the staff and the
children.
2. Assign roles:
• Leader: everyone should be guided by responsible main person e.g. teacher or
staff member.
• Helper: children should have someone to assist, pay more attention to those
who need extra help.
• Checker: someone who is going to check all the rooms and to ensure no one is
left behind.
3. Practice regular drills: have a mock drill every 3 months to teach kids how to line up
and adhere to the instruction calmly while they evacuate.
Step 2: If there is an emergency (fire, gas leak, etc.)
1. Sound the alarm:
• Everyone should be alerted immediately by using bell, whistle, or alarm.
• They need to act quickly but stay calm at the same time.
2. Stop all activities:
• All the children should be gathered right away with the help of the staff and
teachers.
• The teachers and the staff should stay clam to avoid scaring the children.
3. Form groups and count:
• Make a small groups to line them up.
• To make sure no one is missing count everyone.
Step 3: Evacuate the building
1. Use the safest route:
• To leave the building follow the closest and safest emergency exit.
• Only use stairs if need, avoid elevators.
2. Help those who need it:
• Those with mobility issues like babies and toddlers should be assisted.
• For infants if available use evacuation cribs.
3. Stay together:
• You should keep the group together by using the method of holding hands or use
a walking rope.
• While evacuating you should stay calm and steady no running or pushing.
Step4: Go to the assembly point
1. Designated a safe area:
• Assembly point should be easy to get to but far enough from the building.
2. Do another headcount:
• When you get to the assembly point count the children, teachers and staff once
again to ensure everyone is safe.
Step 5: wait for help
1. Call emergency:
• Call the emergency number and explain what happen.
2. Keep everyone safe:
• While waiting keep the children warm, safe and stay calm until help arrives.
Important notes
•
•
•
•
There should be evacuation map in every class.
To be confident during emergency have a mock drill to train the staff regular.
Have the emergency contact list easily accessible.
