The Legal Landscape
The criminal justice system in the United States has changed significantly in the past few
decades. This vital change is associated with the advancements in technology prompting new
ways of gathering evidence, investigation of crimes, court processes and judgment of the cases.
The traditional criminal justice methods of investigating and trying suspects are becoming
ineffective especially with the rise of digital crimes. The recent forms of criminal justice
landscape are seen in the database use, technology tools and policy changes which are thought to
have a more positive impact in the legal system as opposed to the traditional forms of legal
procedures. This paper evaluates how database and computer technology use transforming the
criminal justice environment.
