Personal Brand Worksheet Step 1: Identify your target audience ● ● ● First you need to determine where you want to work. What kind of job do you want to have? Which industry do you want to work in? Perhaps you have always wanted to work for a nonprofit, or in the healthcare industry. Next do a simple search of your desired role on any career job site. Read some of the descriptions for the positions you would like to hold. Determine the skill sets, experience and type of candidate that hiring managers are looking for. Identify common keywords from your career search and write them down. Step 2: Determine your Vision and Purpose ● ● ● ● ● Close your eyes and picture yourself a few months or years from now. What are you are doing? Who you are with? What you have accomplished? How does it feel to be you? Think about one world problem you would like to see solved, or one area of your life that you may want to improve upon. Now open your eyes. Your personal vision is a picture of your true self in the future. It is who you want to be, what you want to do, how you want to feel, and with whom you want to associate yourself. It includes all the important elements of your life and career. Your personal vision helps you see into the future, as it is the framework for the process of creating your life. Write down your personal vision. Now think about the role you will play in making your vision happen. This is your purpose. Write down the changes you need to make to honor this vision and lead a powerful life. Step 3: Determine your Values ● ● ● Your values are core principles that give meaning to your life — a set of standards that determine your attitudes, choices, and actions. Values can include things like balance, agility, calmness, challenge, decisiveness, perseverance, drive, honesty, integrity, pragmatism, sensitivity, structure, teamwork, sharing and vitality. Below is a list of common values from which to choose. Start by selecting and writing down ten words that best describe what you value most. You may choose to substitute other words if they better reflect your values. Step 4: Determine your Passions ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Your passions are what intrigue and motivate you in determining how you want to spend your time. What makes you get out of bed at 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning? What is it that gets you talking enthusiastically with your family and friends? What do you most enjoy doing – in your personal life and work life? If your passions are not met, you will not be happy. Think about your passions and write them down. Then think about how your passions converge with what you do best at school or work. For example, one of your passions may be helping people. At school and work, this enables you to be a better team player and also enables you to be extremely passionate about helping customers. Step 5: Determine your Goals ● ● ● ● Your goals are specific objectives that you would like to achieve. They are projections of what you want to accomplish so you can create an action plan to achieve them. Think about your goals for the next year, the next 5 years, and the next 10 years and write them down. Being very specific in what you want to achieve increases your chances of success. For example, your goal for the next year may be to graduate from your university and accept a full-time position at a marketing company whose mission is connected to your core values. Step 6: Determine your Brand Attributes ● Your personal brand attributes are the words you would use to define your personality, or the value that you offer. ● ● ● ● ● Examples include collaborative, resilient, compassionate, responsible, communicator, ethical, or genuine. The people who know you best can provide key information about your character. Start by asking your friends, family and coworkers to describe your personality using 3 to 4 adjectives. Which personality traits do they use to describe you? Notice how they introduce you to others. Identify 3 or 4 adjectives that best describe the value you offer and write them down. You may refer to the list of common personal brand attributes below. Step 7: Determine your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats ● ● ● ● ● A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis is an invaluable personal branding exercise that helps you prepare for your next job or future career growth. Strengths: Think about what you excel in. What are the things where you are the designated “go to” person for? o Examples of strengths may include collaborating, leading, delegating, empowering others, crunching numbers, anticipating risk, mentoring, selling, innovating, managing conflict, writing, listening, or communicating. Weaknesses are internal, and speak to your potential value to an employer. What could you improve upon? What do you do badly? What should you avoid? You should be aware of your weaknesses so that you do not move into a position that will exploit them. Opportunities are external, and help you foresee what you may be facing in the industry. o What are positive opportunities that face you? o What are the interesting trends you are aware of? Threats are also external. These are the obstacles that you may face. o Are the required specifications or skill sets needed for your job changing? o o o Is changing technology threatening your position? For example, industrial automation and the use of robots in manufacturing is decreasing the overall demand for factory assembly line workers. Think about your weaknesses. Do any of them cause a threat? Step 8: Determine your Competition ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Identify who your competition is in the marketplace and what differentiates you from them. If you are a college student and you are sitting in the classroom or in a public place on campus, look to your right and left. This is your competition. These are the people competing for the same jobs as you. Think about what it is about you that makes you the best hiring choice. What makes you a good investment for the company? Log into your LinkedIn account and begin to search for LinkedIn members with the same job titles as the ones you are seeking. Check out their profiles and see what their unique value proposition is. What added value do you provide over what these individuals could bring? Step 9: Identify 3 Words that Best Describe You ● ● List the three words that reflect your personal brand. Why did you choose those 3 words? The work involved in defining your personal brand will benefit you immeasurably no matter what stage of life you are in. Your personal brand will help you to better communicate your unique value to target employers.

Personal Branding Worksheet.
Step 1: Identify your target audience
The healthcare industry's use of social media for marketing is my dream job. My desire to
provide powerful digital material that supports health and well-being is in line with this field. My
career goal is to become a Social Media Marketing Specialist with an emphasis on increasing
brand awareness, audience engagement, and brand presence for healthcare firms. I'm drawn to
the work because it combines strategic thinking with creativity, and it gives me the chance to
impact people's lives.
I used career sites like Glassdoor and LinkedIn to look up job ads for Social Media
Marketing Specialists in the healthcare sector in order to gain a better understanding of the
requirements of this position (Chen, Rui, & Whinston, 2021). Numerous job descriptions
emphasized duties including developing and overseeing social media campaigns, assessing
performance indicators, and ensuring material complies with legal requirements and corporate
messaging. Additionally, employers stressed the value of collaboration with cross-functional
teams, storytelling, and flexibility in fast-paced settings.
My research led me to identify some of the vital skills and qualities needed to achieve
this role. These include having a stable grasp of analytics equipment like Google Analytics and
Hootsuite, being proficient with social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and
Twitter, and having true communication capabilities. Experience with SEO, video production,
and upholding HIPAA compliance while handling personal scientific data is also valued by
employers.

Several job descriptions had the following common keywords: "digital strategy," "brand
engagement," "campaign performance," "content optimization," and "data-driven decisionmaking." These words will direct how I modify my brand to match the attributes and
competencies that employers look for. I want to establish a solid professional presence in the
healthcare and social media marketing sectors by incorporating these insights.
Step 2: Determine your Vision and Purpose
I see myself succeeding in a rewarding role as a Social Media Marketing Specialist in the
healthcare sector in a few years. I envision working with an enthusiastic organization to develop
effective campaigns that increase public recognition of health fears and encourage well-being. I
have established myself as an authority in developing enticing content material and optimizing
methods with data analytics.
The loss of access to dependable health information is one global difficulty that I would
like to contribute to fixing. By producing without problems readable and charming content
material that informs and empowers groups, I hope to close the gap through my work.
My personal goal is to become a strategic, innovative professional who builds
relationships and provides cost to my work. Surrounded by people who are as captivated with
health advocacy and innovation as I am, I need to be successful, connected, and influential.
My goal will be to keep honing my digital marketing and healthcare communication
abilities in order to fulfill this vision. By obtaining pertinent qualifications, keeping abreast of
market developments, and developing a strong personal brand, I must place a high priority on my
professional development. I will build a strong, purposeful life that is in line with my goal by
concentrating on these adjustments.

Step 3: Determine your Values
Integrity, tenacity, empathy, creativity, teamwork, growth, balance, accountability, drive,
and impact are the values that best capture my values. While perseverance keeps me dedicated to
my goals during difficulties, integrity directs me to act with honesty and strong moral principles.
Empathy enables me to comprehend and value the viewpoints of others, while creativity enables
me to think creatively and come up with novel ideas (Lo & Peng, 2022). Effective collaboration
requires teamwork, and personal and professional development inspires me to be better.
Maintaining a healthy balance between work, relationships, and personal time is something I
value, and accountability makes sure I accept responsibility for my actions. Impact motivates me
to positively touch the lives of others and the world around me while driving fuels my passion to
succeed. These values influence my decisions, dispositions, and behavior in my personal and
professional life.
