Purpose
This project will provide the graduate student with the opportunity to explore the role development of a selected advanced nursing role. Choose the specific role you plan to obtain (e.g., FNP, PMHNP, AGPCNP, CRNA, CNL, CNS etc.).
The student will:
- Review the literature related to the historical, educational, and professional development of the selected role, including key milestones and evolving responsibilities.
- Explore the current practice environment and related legal and professional considerations specific to the state in which they plan to work, including scope of practice, collaborative agreements, and prescriptive authority regulations.
- Critique personal skills/characteristics within the context of the desired role, identifying strengths and areas for growth.
- Develop an educational and practice plan for role attainment, incorporating strategies for continued professional development, mentorship opportunities, and networking within the field.

Format - 10 points
- The paper should be 3 double-spaced pages in length, excluding the title page and references.
- Grammar, APA format, appropriate citations, and referencing are required.
- The personal development section of the paper can be written in the first person but must follow APA paragraph style, avoiding question-and-answer formatting.
- At least three recent journal articles in addition to the assigned textbook for this section to provide a well-rounded perspective. Journal articles should be peer-reviewed and within last 5 years.
