a) What are the name, nature of the business, and specific products or services of your chosen
organization?
Junepo is a company that specializes in the manufacturer of high-quality glass. Over the
years the company has dealt with the manufacture of a variety of glass form decorative to
protective glass products since its establishment in the 1990s. Their manufacturing business has
gained an excellent reputation whereby they are considered as the best in the market when it comes
to glass ware. They have a marketing campaign that allows them to provide what the client needs
within the allocated time frame. Over the decades, Junepo has been servicing the competitive glass
requirements of the construction sector. As a merchant trading company, it has transformed into
several departments of glass manufacturing under one roof. They deal in all types of high-quality
construction toughened glass assemblage; curved glass, laminated glass, anti-bandit glass,
engraved and bevelled glass, bulletproof glass, and sound-proofing glass.
b) How are the products or services produced and distributed by the company?
When it comes to distribution, they have a variety of distribution means from direct clients
to wholesalers. The direct consumers are their suitable option when dealing with big construction
companies that require truckloads of construction glass. They also supply their products to suitable
retailers like hardware shops whenever they are requested for sufficient and acceptable quality
glass. Other means of distribution include supplying to various institutions in the area. They have
a large clientele base because they are the best at what they do. When it comes to how they
distribute the products they use road transport when supplying in the area they are located. They
also have warehouses in various locations in the region that makes it easy for their clients to access

the products whenever they need them. Their supply chain is well organized, and it is always
geared towards meeting the client’s need and provision of the best products.
c) Importance of information systems in managing the organization’s business
A company must have the right information system to ensure there is a proper generation
of information that can become used in managing the operation of a company. According to
Valacich and Schneider (2010), utilization of new methods of information coupled with adding
more data to make the information accurate happens to be an effective way of improving the
effectiveness of information systems. When an organization invests in the right information
systems, it propels operations to better highest that allow employees to meet the clients’ needs thus
success in delivery is guaranteed.
One of the importance’s of the information system in managing an organization is
facilitating distribution of information thus making communication efficient and rapid. Valacich
and Schneider (2010) illustrate that the efficiency brought about by the information systems
ensures that proper storage of information as it guarantees easy retrieval of information. In the case
of Junepo, client’s details are well documented and when they required the authorized personnel
gets into the local intranet system of the company to retrieve the data. Additionally, the information
system allows staff to utilize email or telephone to communicate with each other where necessary.
In the case of emails, the messages sent are among staff based on work-related issues are always
kept in the system as back up record and retrieved whenever they are required.
Secondly, thanks to the information system the company’s operations are based upon this
