do they have these particular standards?
The Outlaw Motorcycle Club entail to a motorcycle subculture that has its origins in the
post-World War II period of American society. Also known as the ‘one-percent’ motorcycle
gangs, this club has been a bane to the federal government since the mid-20th century. Research
shows that the Outlaw Motorcycle Club plays an integral role in American organized crime. Like
most motorcycle gangs across the world, the Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs have strict standards
regarding their membership. The Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs have these standards because they
act as club identities that create a firm sense of identity. In other words, the standards
surrounding their memberships serve as unity agents that enable the members to have a sense of
belonging to the club. Members of the Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs enjoy several benefits such as
they obtain a sense of control and power and are not judged for their behaviors.
