The US-Mexican war carried tremendous impact on the history of the countries. For
Mexico particularly, the war was accompanied by a series of tragedies, the death of thousands of
people, extensive destruction to cities, the naval blockade and migration of people severely
disrupted the economy. However, the most lasting impact of the war was psychological. The
war was characterized by extralegal killings of citizens of Mexican descent and in the present
