Imagine you work for a local health care office and you are asked to create a presentation for the community on health care government payors.

Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that discusses Medicare, Medicaid, the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), and TRICARE.

Include detailed speaker notes to explain the following topics in your presentation:

Eligibility requirements

Coverage provisions

Participating and non-participating provider charges

Resources: Powerpoint Template (http://www.slideshare.net/wtidwell/apa-template-powerpoint) and How to cite Powerpoint APA(http://www.ispringsolutions.com/blog/how-to-cite-powerpoint-presentations-using-apa-style/)

Speaker note use is REQUIRED: a good rule of thumb is about 6 bullet points on the slide itself and about 2 minutes of speaking (what you would say if you were actually presenting this) in the speaker notes. Try reading what you have written in the speaker notes out loud to yourself--if it takes about 2 minutes, you have about the right information in the speaker notes. That way I can see exactly word for word what you would say to the audience while the audience is looking at the key points on each slide. The slides are like an outline and the speaker notes are like what you would write about a topic in a written paper. Depending on the version you are using, speaker notes may vary so be sure to look for sources to help you consistent with the PowerPoint version you have. You Tube may have videos for your version on how to do speaker notes. You can place your in-text citations (author, date) in the notes or on the slides with the full APA reference in the reference slide at the end. Another hint: use a table for each of the 3 areas in bullet two comparing across the 4 payers in bullet one--see examples of tables in the assignments in the first 2 weeks. A resource for constructing tables in Word and embedding in PowerPoints: How to insert a table in Powerpoint (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Add-a-table-to-a-slide-34f106c9-5320-4b89-9129-806e64b258ac) or see YouTube for helpful videos to help you. I RECOMMEND USING THE ATTACHED TABLES, COMPLETING AND INSERTING EACH IN A SEPARATE POWERPOINT SLIDE BECAUSE IT IS MUCH BETTER FOR YOUR AUDIENCE TO COMPARE AND FOR YOU TO GET A BETTER GRADE IF YOU DO SO.
