Renaissance is a French translation of the word rinascita which means ‘Rebirth’. It is a
historical period covering 200 years, between 1400 and 1600, during which arts such as painting,
architecture, sculpture, and related arts were produced in Europe. Renaissance is anchored on
components such as reviving classical forms that originate from the ancient Rome and Greece, an
acute interest in humanism alongside an assertion of an individual’s importance. Humanism is a
cultural movement in renaissance shifting from the ancient scholasticism to an interest in old
thoughts in Rome and Greece. This led to scholars studying and translating philosophical texts
