The Harlem Renaissance was an era where there was an increase in the intellectual, social
and artistic skills. This era occurred in the city of New York. It was also known as the Negro
movement. This movement included the African-American society. Social dance during the
Harlem Renaissance cemented the relationships between the culture of the African-American
and art. The dance meant to bring people together so they can live in harmony. The dance
brought about laughter and happy times or all the people and they made strong connections.
These dances brought hope in times of sorrow, pain, and disappointments. The dancers danced to
