Q1:- ABCD ≅ FGHJ. Find the measure of the given angles or lengths of the given
sides. CD = 2x + 3; HJ = 3x + 2.
Sol: As we can see that ABCD ≅ FGHJ,
So
CD = HJ
Now substituting the values of CD and HJ in above, we get
2x+3 = 3x+2
2x – 3x = 2 – 3
-x=-1
x=1
Now substituting the value of x in CD and HJ, we get the measure of lengths.
CD = 2x+3=2(1)+3=2+3=5 units
HJ = 3x+2=3(1)+2=3+2=5 units
