PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FROM LEARNING BLOCK 1-2

Prompt: Revisit Learning Block 1-2 to consider your previous thoughts on the study of history and reflect on how your thinking on history has evolved. Then, respond to the following question in two to three sentences:

Writing in his 1532 work, The Prince, Niccolò Machiavelli stated, “Wise men say, and not without reason, that whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times.” Does this quote still apply to the modern world? Why or why not?

Guidelines for Submission: Your response should be two to three sentences in length.

Short Answer I will discuss a very controversial issue. I can’t say I agree with the statement "Those who don't know history won't be able to improve the present." Let’s take the building of the wall as an example. The purpose of the wall is to keep the immigrants out of the United States. Think about it, the Great wall of China was built to stop invasions as well as the Berlin wall which was to separate East and West Germany, which has served its purpose. The way Trump wants to build the wall separating Mexico and the USA I feel will serve its purpose, but I am against it. I feel there are more serious issue we need to focus on, aside from immigration.
