Factors that made the black people move out of the south
Racial segregation was more concentrated in the southern parts of the united
states of America. Most black individuals who resided in the southern parts believed that
racism and prejudice were less in the northern parts. They, therefore, were eager, willing
and determined to leave the southern parts regardless of the uncertain life in the
anticipated northern areas (Weiss, Henri & Sowell, 2009).
Another reason is the slavery held dearly as an economic activity in the south. The
South American part was one of the main traders of slavery in the world. That action made
the majority of black Americans not to feel secure nor appreciated within the southern
community.

Factors that drew them to the north
The second factor that facilitated the migration was better and high paying jobs.
