Is the social process through which we develop our personalities and human potential learn
about our society and culture. We have different theories that explain about socialization. All
this theories explain about who we socialize with, what people and how this people and
institution have made us what we are today.
Socialization is a life process and it all begins from our families. Families are the main source
of socialization because they give us/or teach us the social values such how to speak,
brushing our teeth, religion law and politics and so on.
The socialization in our family doesn’t have to pay us financial gains but it helps us to know
how to appreciate the non-financial assets that help us successes in life.
Another important form of socialization that starts at home is gender socialization. Gender
socialization starts from the time parents decides on the gender of the child by giving him or
her a name. Other group’s memberships can also be regarded as important memberships of
socialization such as race and class.
We also have the race socialization which can be referred as the process through which
children learn the behaviours, values and attitudes associated with racial groups.SO racial
discrimination is as a result of the racial lessons that children from parents. Class
