RESEARCH EXPERIMENT

Research Title: Lipid Infusion Impairs Physiologic Insulin-Mediated Capillary
Recruitment and Muscle Glucose Uptake in Vivo
Introduction
There is a need to try and have a background in biology so as to have a better
understanding of the article. Triglycerides are esters formed from three fatty acids and a glycerol.
It should be noted from the start that the insulin resistance is a sign of type 2 diabetes. The
insulin resistance is defined as the reduction in the response to the target tissues when compared
to the normal glucose tolerance. The skeletal muscle is the predominant area of the insulinmediated glucose, which takes place in the postprandial state. Hemodynamics is the change or
dynamics of flow of blood. It is the hemodynamic response that monitors, and if need be, adjusts
the flow, depending on the environmental conditions, both in the body and in the external
conditions. It is with this knowledge that the understanding of the article is enhanced.

RESEARCH EXPERIMENT
In Vivo is a Latin name meaning in living organisms. Research also has it that
hemodynamic effects contribute to an overall metabolic response by promoting access for both

insulin and glucose to muscle. There are two major hemodynamic actions one involving capillary
recruitment and the other involving a bulk flow increase of blood. These two actions are going to
be analyzed in this experiment via the application of insulin and lipids into the muscles in vivo
and determine whether, upon the application of such, there is an impairment in hemodynamic
actions.
The article recognizes that the skeletal muscles are the main uptake of insulin-mediated,
and it is the resistance to this actions that lead to the development of the type ...
