Question description

Performance is a critical component of system design requirements. As a company begins to add applications and services to its current system, its performance results will vary. To mitigate issues, a company must first establish a baseline, identify system performance metrics, and then monitor tasks and activities against the baseline.
To complete this assignment, answer the following questions in a minimum of 3 pages (not counting title page and references page):

  • What are three system performance metrics that should be measured before a company implements a cloud-based system?
  • What are three cloud-based system metrics often cited as a competitive advantage among vendors?
  • What are two benchmarking tools that can be used to evaluate cloud-based and non-cloud-based systems?
  • When and how often should a cloud-based system be tested?
Use APA formatting style (title page, references page, and in-text citations).

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE METRICS
What are three system performance metrics that should be measured before a company
implements a cloud-based system?

Due to the many benefits that come with cloud-based systems, many companies are moving
towards the cloud so as to remain modern. This modern technology enables these companies to
reduce their costs of system development and maintenance, increase their application flexibility
and delivery speed. However, some companies end up facing severe hazards as a result of their
fast decision of jumping on the cloud which results in the poor implementation of the cloud
(Gordan, 2017).

One of the most important things to consider before implementing the cloud is performance.
Performance measurement is essential for all types of applications. Some of the system
performance metrics that should be measured before a company implements a cloud-based system
include Request Rate, Response Time, and Uptime (Watson, 2017).

1. Request Rate
Request rate is the number of requests made by users to the target server through the system
per second. It is also known as Average Load. Before migrating any non-cloud-based
system to a cloud-based system, it is very important to understand the load of the current
application. This will help in decision making as to whether a cloud-based syste...
