SOCIAL ISSUES
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adapted at the United Nations Summit in
New York from 25 to 27 September 2015. The Agenda is a broad and universal policy agenda,
with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with 169 associated targets which are
integrated and indivisible. Building on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the 2030
Agenda seeks to guide Member States to transform their approach to achieve inclusive, peoplecentred and sustainable development with no one left behind.

environment.

Sustainable Development Goals


Planet
we are determined to protect the planet from degradation, including through sustainable
consumption and production, sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent
action on climate change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations.



Prosperity
we are determined to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives
and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature.



Peace
we are determined to foster peaceful, just and inclusive societies which are free from fear and
violence. There can be no sustainable development...
