Question description

Week 3 Reflective Journal

Now that you have completed your Narrative Essay, reflect back on this process, how it went, and what you’ve learned from it. Write a brief reflection journal in which you address the following questions (from The Writer’s Way, p. P-6):

1.What just happened? (What did I/we do?)

2.What was the purpose? (Why did I/we do it?)

3.What did it say? (What was the content?) [For this question, identify one concept from the readings, lessons, or discussions pertaining to this assignment that seemed significant to you. Be specific.]

4.What was the point?

5.How can I use this?

Important: Do not write just one-sentence answers to the above questions. Write at least a paragraph for each. You might want to review the additional explanations on p. P-6 before your proceed.

You do not have to use APA Style for this assignment, but your journal must use 12-pt. Times New Roman and be double spaced.

PREWRITING 1 student English Comp June 26, 2018 My Childhood Part 1: Prewriting Childhood denotes the years of one's youth, which is a period of first impressions and bright experiences. Given that children are sincere and naïve, they hold this tendency to be engaged in extreme situations. It is a period when children attempt all sort of activities just for fun and curiosity. I was no different at all. I took part in so many activities some of which were good while others were bad. It is the period that I almost got spankings from parents daily because I always did things that I was not allowed. In short, I still walked contrary to their advice to explore all ideas. At one point I almost got hit by a car while crossing the road alone to visit a friend when my parents had always warned me not to cross the street without my elder sisters' help. Fortunately, the driver of the car was so cautious that he held brakes right immediately but warned me never to attempt to cross the road again before looking left and right. He, however, was concerned and even offered to take me to where I was heading. The essay would as well cover: • What happened when I got hurt on the playground? • Tell about a childhood experience that helped me mature. • What I dreamt of being when I was a kid. PREWRITING • What was my favorite sport in childhood and why? Part II: Outline i) Definition of the term Childhood. ii) Introduction of the entire narrative about my childhood. iii) My early experiences in my childhood iv) The best experience that I ever had in my childhood v) My favorite sport in youth and reason why I loved the game. vi) My schooling experience during my childhood. vii) The conclusion of the narrative. 2
