Unit 5 assignment 1: focus paper
Change management is an important process in every organization. As Cameron
(2016) reports, it is important for organizations to align their operations from time to time and
make the necessary change initiatives that should align with their strategic goals while at the
same time optimizing their efficiency and performance. On the same note, companies that fail
to change often experience a stagnation in their operations and face a potential collapse in the
long run. While change initiatives are important towards the success of an organization, it is
important to consider the effect of such an initiative on the people, the processes, and the
products. After all, failure to consider these factors could result in negative results. In order to

distribution centers situated centrally in such a way that each distribution center serves a
number of outlets around it. As the company reports, it has a total of 150 regional distribution
centers, which means that each distribution center serves an average of 78 outlets (Walmart,

2018). The inventory model is supplier-controlled in that the suppliers have the mandate to
monitor the flow and size of inventory and make deliveries on time.
The above model creates a number of setbacks in that 78 outlets could be way too
many for a single distribution center. Owing to the fact that Walmart has operations all over
the world, some regional distribution centers may be too far from some retail facilities and
