strategic management process that are employed by Southwest Airlines include environmental
scanning, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. Environment
scanning is a process that entails the collection of relevant external and internal factors of the
company, thorough scrutiny, and offering insightful information about the information under
study (Rothaermel, 2015). Environment scanning is an essential step in SMP because it enables
the company to properly analyze and evaluate the external and internal factors that dictate the
