According to the American Psychiatry Association (2013), trauma refers to an emotional
response elicited by terrible events such as rape, natural disaster or accident. The victim of lifethreatening events develops extreme anxiety, periods of sadness or PTSD, and anger they
struggle with sleep and self –esteem. Trauma leaves victims overwhelmed thus resort to isolating
themselves due to the feeling of helpless in a dangerous world. Additionally, trauma has become

Description of Client, History, And Medications
Different people experience trauma in varying degrees. The clients with trauma
conditions most visit the psychiatric clinic and attend the counseling session. The lady with
trauma problem had lost her boyfriend in a tragic road accident. Additionally, the grief and
failure to accept fate befell on her beloved one had continually triggering thoughts of the scene
of the accident. Living with the history of events resulting in troubling memories have always
aroused avoidance behavior which she uses as defensive mechanism exposure herself event
