What is foreign aid? This is a question that many people are likely to ask among
themselves. According to Eysenck (2017), Foreign aid is the help that a country receives from
another nation in instances of crisis. The main reason that sees foreign assistance been
experienced is war. The war is mainly caused by political differences among the people of a
given state. The case is much common in almost all African countries. The conflicts mostly lead
people killing each other, displacement from their homes, and destruction of property, primarily
through looting and theft. Considering displacement, when people take refuge in another region,
they are likely not achieving basic needs such as food. The reason behind this statement is
mainly because the war mostly occurs unexpectedly. This means that most of the people are
unprepared more likely, financially. These people must receive help from the government to
meet these needs. In a situation where the government can meet all these needs, it may opt to
accept the foreign aid from another country. Examples of the foreign aid that the state may
receive from another may include humanitarian, technical, military, financial assistance, and
among others.
