Date rape and stranger rape are considered the same in their criminality. In 2012, the
FBI’S UCR program came up with a definition that illustrates what abuse is (Marsil &
McNamara, 2016). The conclusion defined rape as penetration of any private part using any
object or body part, or oral penetration using a private part without the consent of the person. It
means that date rape and stranger rape are all considered as offenses that are criminal. In the
legal system, both the date rape and the stranger rape get treated the same. It is because abuse
entails nonconsensual sexual penetration. Whenever the victim is not capable of preventing it, it
becomes a crime. Even though both kinds of rape are treated the same according to law, date
rape is questionable.
This is because the perpetrator may accuse the victim of leading them to commit such
acts. In a case involving date rape, the victim's actions and behavior are critical to the ruling of
the situation. In most cases, the victims may be accused of exaggerating or fabricating the
