in the foreign market.
Dumping is a very controversial issue in international business because it is considered to
be a form of price discrimination. Typically, it involves exportation of substantial volumes of
product which affects the financial viability of the product producers in the importing market.
More controversies arise because dumping is considered both advantageous and
disadvantageous. For instance, dumping has the ability to permeate the market with unfair
product prices. The exporting country or company may need to offer producers subsidy to cover
the losses incurred when the goods are sold below the cost of manufacturing.
