The library databases, in particular ABI-Inform and Mergent Online will provide you with the best information for your project. Cite references in your paper in APA or MLA format. HERE’s WHAT TO DO: You are now functioning as part of a group. Use the Groups Discussion board to communicate consistently with other group members. DIVIDE YOUR WORK FAIRLY BY COMMUNICATING ON THIS BOARD. You will also turn in a peer evaluation form at the end of the project. You are assigned an industry and a country combination of interest (see below). YOU MUST PICK ONE OF THESE COMBINATIONS, AS A GROUP. You will be taking on the perspective of an American MNC in this industry that wishes to enter the assigned country. You must nowdevelop a paper addressing the following issues. 1) Complete an assessment of the environments in your given host country by researching and describing the following: (i)socio-cultural, (ii)legal-political, and (iii)economic environments. 2) As the CEO of an American MNC in this industry, investigate and describe the opportunities and threats in entering your assigned country. 3) As the same CEO, describe market segments that should be targeted. Refer back to the 3Ms and “Assessing market potential” slide in your PP lecture, in explaining your rationale. Discuss the segmentation bases used. 4) Select Mode of Entry. Explain and support your rationale. 5) Explain the channels of distribution in your host country as they relate to your industry. 6) Identify and explain specific productconcerns in your host country as they relate to your industry. 7) Identify and explain specific promotion concerns in your host country as they relate to your industry. 8) Discuss porter’s National Diamond model as it relates to your assigned country: (i) Factor conditions, (ii) Demand conditions, (iii) Related and supporting industries and (iv) Firm strategy, structure and rivalry. Are there new sources of competitive advantage (for your assigned industry/country combination) that have not been covered by Porter’s national diamond. Explain. And that’s it! The entirety as discussed above will become the final project report that you will submitto me via email by 10pm on June 29. ATTACH A TABLE OF CONTENTS PAGE, SHOWING WHO DID WHICH PART. Social-cultural Environment in Germany.
Social culture relates to a set of beliefs and practices existing among a population. It is
advisable to examine the social-cultural environment of a host country before venturing into the
market. When examining the social-cultural environment, it is important to expound on various
aspects that are vital to understanding the environment precisely. These aspects include; religion,
language, food, business etiquette in the host country and the entire German life. During the
assessment, the key factor would understand how these shortlisted factors impact on Germany’s
technology.
In Germany, food consumption has a variance from region to region. However, it mainly
concentrates on meat, sweet desserts and stolen (fruit cakes). Rye bread is also consumed in
large amounts, and there is a massive production of beer and wine to be absorbed by the
inhabitants. Another astonishing factor aligned with social-culture is the language (Natalie,
2009). The official language in Germany is German. This language has evolved, and history
shows that German grew over three periods; Old German, Middle German, and Modern German.
This identifies that the language has undergone multiple changes to make it a standard language.
Understanding the business etiquette in Germany would be the most critical aspect to
ensure the smooth running of any emerging business. Appointments for meetings should be
made in advance depending on the media used for such (M.Howell,2009). The dressing mode is
also critical when doing business with Germans. Everyone is expected to dress formally in dark
suits.
The legal-political environment in Germany.
The political state of any country has a very vital influence in the advancement of
Technology and establishment of businesses in the region. While discussing this factor, we are
going to approach both legal and political environments separately.
Political Environment.
Germany is a democratic country, providing social constitution rights to its inhabitants.
The constitutions and the Federal Court governs laws ensuring their adherence and that they are
not violated. Dating back to the aftermath of the second world war, a fundamental law was
provided that gave freedom and stability for the Germans even though the ones living in the west
of the nation remained divided till 1990.
Legal Environment.
Germany has a proper frame to ensure justice for all. The administration of justice is
therefore divided into five branches. These branches include social courts, financial courts, labor
courts, administrative courts, and ordinary courts. Each of these branches works to ensure justice
is administered and met. In case a plaintiff or the accused isn’t satisfied with the rulings made by

these courts, an appeal can be made to the three higher tiers to reassess the verdict. However,
when the third level is reached, there is no longer any right of appeal and litigation, and thus the
ruling comes to an end.
A survey conducted on the political and legal environment has indicated Germany as
second after Great Britain. Legal stability, in turn, attracts foreign companies who benefit the
country by investing and providing job opportunities in the state through entrepreneurship.
Economic Environment in Germany.
Germany is Europe’s largest economy with a production of almost one-fifth of the
European’s Union total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This makes it a rich and technologically
powerful environment. Germans economy is based on the price mechanism system/free system.
However, there are some government’s regulations and other social welfare programs. The
government uses specific strategies to play a role in the economy of the country. These strategies
include providing incentives, subsidies, regulating prices by administering price floors and price
ceilings.
Germany had therefore been indicated as an ideal market in the European Union. This
followed statistics showing that it had the highest Gross Domestic Product and the highest
number of inhabitants in the European Union. The recent research conducted as per March 2018
indicates Germany as a great exporting country and therefore verifying its economic strength.
International companies have also invested directly in Germany’s economy-boosting it
tremendously.
Opportunities and Threats of entering Germany.
Opportunities.
Leading economy. The country offers a large domestic market and access to the
international market thereby increasing profits.
High productivity. There is a wide range of factors which have contributed to Germany’s
high productivity. These factors include; social and market reforms, excellent and well trusted
German quality, and a steadily decreasing unit labor costs. This makes Ge...
