In America, ideal citizenship makes an individual an asset of the US government. To be
an American citizen, one should be a US patriot governed by federal laws. Ideal citizens struggle
to benefit their nation. Lawbreakers and smugglers are citizens but not ideal citizens. Ideal
citizenship requires Americans to be tolerant, have the political knowledge, engage in politics
and be politically interested. Such characteristics push ideal citizens to believe in political
systems of power. Political knowledge is a characteristic needed by all ideal citizens. In
America, few citizens can describe the officials of the Supreme Court, the composition of Senate
and other critical political institutions (Thunder 5). However, Americans in their immigration
attempts and demand for new political reforms which make them more rational as ideal citizens.
More so, political interest of Americans over the years has surged due to increased political
turnouts under new political leadership. ...
