there is a potential of the workers being exposed to hazardous chemicals should have a hazard
communication program. Cultural and language barriers can affect the communication program
mainly because the individuals handling the hazardous material may have difficulty in
understanding aspects of the communication program such as the chemical labels which are
required to be written in English as the primary language. Developing and also ensuring that
there is the implementation of programs aimed at training often don’t factor in barriers in
communication, levels of literacy, or aspects of culture (Jesus-Rivas, Conlon and Burns, 2016).
