RUNNING HEAD: OHIO HEALTH
Ohio health is a recognized nonprofit health care among the top largest health systems in the
United States of America. It is an outreach of United Methodist church. The organization has
been nationally recognized for instance by Fortune as among the best 100 companies to work for,
for more than a decade consecutively. The healthcare has more than 29000 volunteers,
associates, and physicians. Ohio health includes medical campuses, health centers, hospitals and
specialty centers which are fully equipped with modernized medical facilities (OhioHealth,
2018). On the same, the organization has a performing strategic planning and implementation in
the execution of their objectives and goals in the day to day activities. As a former employee, the
effectiveness of strategic planning and implementation of Ohio health can be illustrated as
Major components of the strategic management process in Ohio Health.
In an organization, strategic management process appears more of a philosophical approach.
The process is used to determine the goals and how to achieve them and analyzing the SWOT
analysis thus enhancing harmony in the organization in determining its sustainability and success
(Seker, 2013). On the same, the major components of the strategic management process in Ohio
health include, Goal setting, the environmental scanning and analysis, strategy formulation,
strategy implementation and evaluation and control.
a) Goal setting.
In Ohio health, the management system is guided by the goals set as the mission and vision of
the organization. Ohio health is always on the front line in remaining focused on its mission
which is meant to improve the health of the patients they serve through compassion, integrity,
excellence, and stewardship (OhioHealth, 2018). The vision of the organization, on the other
hand, discusses how Ohio health is focused to change the world by having hardworking
dedicated physicians who are ready to serve the patients who need their services. This keeps the
organization focused on their objectives.
b) Environmental scanning and analysis
Secondly, the other component is environmental analysis. Environmental scanning of Ohio
health can be divided into two factors. The two factors include Internal and external
environmental analysis (Ginter, Duncan & Swayne, 2018). For instance, internal environmental
analysis of Ohio health is defined by the current employees, the corporate culture, employee
behavior, and the management. The management has to ensure the employees are satisfied,
motivated and properly trained to handle the patients professionally. On the same, the corporate
culture is defined around virtues such as charity, stewardship, integrity, and honesty in duties
