Before even a child is born, gender identification and socialization begin when the
parents start preparing for the arrival of the kid. Having the information about the unborn child
usually allows parents to prepare well. Many developmental scientists are becoming concerned
about the change of behavior based on gender over some time. Scientists have narrowed their
study to focus on gendered thinking and gendered behavior over time (Donnelly, & Twenge,
2017). Children learn to identify themselves as either females or males at a very early stage. In
some cases, identification of gender roles has brought some form of discrimination in the current
society. There have been questions showing the process and the period when boys and girls start
identifying themselves with certain interests and behavior. Some of these questions have had the
bearing of the underlying transmission and origins of gender structures and attitudes that bring
about broader understanding of gender role socialization. In this paper, I will discuss the sex role
socialization amongst boys and girls. I will also discuss how the norms affect a certain individual
in his socialization process, and roles they play in their adulthood.
Both genders are not only different in anatomy but also considerable difference on the
way they express their interests. There are also certain behavioral differences that are determined
biologically. The presence of testosterone in men is seen as the reason why they behave different
from their female counterparts. In real life, the males are considered to be more aggressive when
compared to female colleagues. Non-anatomical differences are prone to appear grounded on sex
activities that have been learnt by every person. Therefore, all children are born either male or
female but they are later groomed on how to be feminine and masculine. Furthermore, sex roles
and socialization are norms that are used to define how people behave and the position they take
in the societal setting. People who are prone to occupy a certain societal setting are sometimes
