PAD 30177 Southern New Hampshire Public Policy Development Process Worksheet
CompetencyIn this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competency:Examine the public policy development processScenarioYou work as the deputy director for your local city planning department, but you have been serving as the interim department head while the city manager searches for a new director. After several months of searching, an exciting candidate named Susan Greenfield accepted the city’s offer and just started in her new role. Susan brings a lot of experience, having worked for three other planning departments in much larger communities, and you and your colleagues are excited about the new energy and perspective she will bring. In her previous experiences, she has successfully leveraged planning assets to support other public efforts. As part of that work, she has used a specific policy development framework with great success. One of your first assigned tasks is to complete a policy comparative analysis in which you must analyze the planning department’s most recent policy development project and compare what happened in that case to the framework Susan is bringing to the table. In this way, she hopes to better understand the department’s history and existing way of doing things, as well as prepare you, as her deputy, to apply her framework moving forward.DirectionsTo that end, Susan has provided you with a matrix organizer to structure your comparative analysis. However, she also promotes innovation and creative thinking, so you are encouraged to modify this format to improve communication of the key ideas, as needed. If you do modify the format of your deliverable, be sure that the final product still contains the following elements:Establish a context for your review. Include a brief description of the rationale for the policy, the outcomes of the process, and any other background information on the case that will be helpful for your boss to interpret your analysis.Begin your comparative analysis by organizing the relevant details of the case into the various stages of your boss’s policy development framework. Be sure to respond to the following questions for each of the stages:Who were the specific stakeholders (i.e., names of people or organizations) and how were they involved during that stage? To what extent was evidence presented or applied by policy advocates and/or other stakeholders during that stage? What were the ethical considerations present during that stage? Then, evaluate the extent to which the case reflects and aligns with the ideal policy development framework. In other words, rate each stage on a scale from 0–4 (with 0 being “not present in the case” and 4 being “perfectly illustrates the ideal”), and defend your assessment by providing specific examples that reference and draw comparisons to the ideal process.Based on your evaluation, make specific recommendations that are informed by the ideal policy development framework. In other words, if the ideal stage is represented in the case, provide recommendations on how to avoid common problems within that stage. If the stage is missing, provide recommendations on how it could have been incorporated. Finally, cite the resources that support your assessment of the given stage. You should have a minimum of one citation per stage. What to SubmitEvery project has a deliverable or deliverables, which are the files that must be submitted before your project can be assessed. For this project, you must submit the following:Policy Comparative AnalysisYour policy comparative analysis may be submitted using the matrix organizer or in an alternatively formatted document. It should be approximately 800–1200 words in length and appropriately cite all references.Matrix Organizer- see attached down below! You may choose to format your submission using this matrix organizer. However, you are encouraged to modify this format to improve communication of the key ideas, as needed and appropriately cite all references.Reference List For each source that you cite, you need to include the author’s name, the publication year, the title of the source, and the location of the source in a References section at the end of your work. in-text citation(s) and sources appropriately.Supporting MaterialsThe following resource(s) may help support your work on the project:Case Material: Ideal Policy Development Framework- see attachedUse this as a reference describing the various stages of the ideal policy development framework for your comparative analysis.Case Material: Planning Department Case: The 2040 Plan for Northwest Indiana: How Public Engagement Guided the Formation of the Plan- see attached

ENG1300 GMC Teaching English through literature Annotated Bibliography
Response Paper 3: Annotated BibliographyEnglish 102Discussion Forum 5.2 for this week asks you to post your working thesis for your final Research Paper (due in week 7; research paper guidelines are available in “Course Resources” above week 1). Remember that this Research Paper must make an argumentative claim about one or two (no more than three) of the works we have read in the class using one of the critical reading strategies to which you were introduced. I advise you to post into forum 5.2 as early as possible this week, so you have more time to receive feedback and adapt your working thesis if necessary. An Annotated Bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 200 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph—this is known as the annotation. The purpose of each annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the source cited.Your assignment:Develop an Annotated Bibliography using at least THREE relevant sources from the GMC Library.Remember that you are writing a paper on literature, so while you may find a historical document important to your research if you are performing a Historical Analysis, your sources should generally come from the Literary Resource Center in the GMC Library.Your bibliography will come in two parts:A 100-word (or more) discussion on a text (or texts) from the course, and the critical perspective you plan to use in order to create a strong, detailed, analytical thesis statement.3-5 MLA Citations, with 200-word annotations for each (annotations include the following elements):a. InitialAppraisal b. Content AnalysisFirst, you will write 100+ words explaining the text(s) you’ve chosen to analyze and why, as well as the critical perspective you intend to use. While choosing your text or texts, pick one of the following options:• A topic focusing on one of the texts from class (if only writing on one text, try to focus on a different work than the ones you wrote on for Response Papers 1 and 2 unless getting my approval first).A topic focusing on multiple texts (no more than 3) by the same authorA topic focusing on multiple texts (but no more than two) by different authorsThen, you will write your annotated bibliography. For the citation for each source, carefully follow the MLA format provided by the Purdue Owl. For each source annotation, be sure to read the materials in week 5’s Online Learning Resources for help with bibliographies and annotations. The annotations will consist of the following:a. Initial Appraisal (50-75 words)You may address things like: What are the author's credentials, educational background, or experience? Is the source current or out-of- date for your topic? Is the writing affiliated with any academic institutions, corporations, organizations, etc?a. Content Analysis (150-200 words)You will ANALYZE the source, asking questions like: How is this work relevant to your chosen text? What is a particularly strong quote from this source? Why would it be helpful to your thesis idea? Does the source related to the critical perspective you’ve chosen? Specifically, your analysis should address the portions of the source that relate directly to what you are discussing; you don’t need to speak to the entire document unless all of it is relevant to your claim. As with all your submissions, this is a formal assignment that should be submitted using MLA format for style, spacing, heading, pagination, etc.Since you will be submitting a working thesis statement, a (minimum) 100-word discussion of that idea, and (minimum) 200-word annotations for at least three (and no more than five) sources, this submission should be at least 700-1200 words.

MSHF606 Embry Riddle University Influences on Memory Brief Paper
For this assignment, do not summarize the concept of working or
long-term memory. Instead, using the model of working memory initially
developed by Baddeley and Hitch, describe a human-centric system (in a setting
of your choosing) where working memory is a central function in the key
operations. Then, add a brief explanation of how long-term memory formation in
this setting could be a factor given the modifications created by individual
experiences. Identify some of the influences from various sources that might
result in potential threats or be available as benefits. These might be from
the operators themselves, the working environment, the nature of tasks
performed, or other influences. Provide at least one scholarly resource to
support your system design. Present this as a brief. Your brief should be approximately 800
words in length and should be written in APA format.

Formal Fallacies Logics Paper
Create two instances of arguments that commit formal fallacies, as discussed in Chapter 3 of CET. Make sure you familiarize yourself with formal fallacies, as well as arguments with good forms, for contrast. Your assignment in short is to do Exercise 3.2c and post your results as a single post. You can write them out with numbered premises and an identified conclusion, or you can present them as written prose, as someone might when writing a paper. That is up to you. You'll submit those here AND post them in the discussion forum. As part of this week's discussion, you'll also identify fallacies in a classmate's post. If we each do a post and each identify fallacies, then we can each have a back-and-forth to use as practice with peer feedback. We should also feel free to check out other people's posts and, once there is a guess or identification, comment constructively to help each other in identifying the fallacies. The original poster can go last and provide what they took to the be right answer.
