In the United States of America, the ports or rather the public ports play an integral role in both
the local and regional economies. This is because the ports are the points of entry and exit for
both people and goods. Worth noting is the fact that mainly ports are used to bring in goods that
are of great quantity than those brought by other means (Buxbaum, 2018). Again, most of these
goods are of much value and it is commonly preferred or rather it is popular among many people
since it is cheaper and more convenient than other modes that are available.
In the states, the goods brought in through the ports constitute to more than three trillion dollars
to the economy of the country. Again it is worth noting that in federal states, the ports alone add
