ISSC451 Cybercrime discussion questions
Response must be 150 words.Brenda discussion1. Discuss and explain the inherent conflicts associated with police as intelligence gatherers. One of the conflicts associated with it could be police have never been in intelligence gathering business. This can make it extremely hard when it comes to looking to gather information about something that could be indicative of an apparent terrorist attack or even some other larger intelligence context. It would be nice for police officials to have the proper training, so they can gather valuable information and become better detectives to combat any type of terrorism. 2. Explain the Wiretap Statute and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Find and cite a case in which a person(s) is charged with abuse of either the Wiretap Statute or the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Please give your opinion on whether you agree or disagree with the verdict or charges. (Use Findlaw or other online search engines to find case law). The Electronic Communications Privacy Act is used to protect any and all wire, oral, and electronic communications while it is in transit and was passed in 1986 by Congress. This Privacy Act amended the Title III of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. These laws have been established to help maintain our rights, and because of these certain requirements are needed to acquire search warrants along with enforcement issues if any illegal activities are observed during the communication. The act is to uphold the constitutional provisions to privacy. It does this by instituting restrictions that regard the state’s abilities to track, listen, penalize, or observe forms of automatic communication. The one I was able to find was the lawsuit settlement with AT&T. They had to pay 1.5 million dollars because of a wiretap that was done by a few employees who went rogue. As you now, it was done illegal snooping and wiretapping. And yes and no, I do not believe they got a fair shake. I believe the employees should have been made to pay the bill half because it was them that did the wiretap not the company itself. However, I believe the company is should have to pay half because they should have had some type of warning systems in place. RainaeElectronic Communications Privacy Act. 2017. Laws. Even though these two communities have different roles and objectives there has been factors that has affected their interaction. Intelligence role are meant to gather information before an incidence occur where reasons of the incidence are private or closed. Law enforcement are including for local affairs where intelligence gathering is not needed most of the time. But according to the Patriot Act it has given rights to law enforcement to monitor and gather user’s information from the internet, they have power to request more information from Internet Service providers and hand it over that information about users without a warrant. So, I’m now curious if this practice is in accordance to the constitutional rights awarded to us the citizen and national of the United States.Explain the Wiretap Statute and the Electronic Communication Privacy Act. Find a case in which a person is charged with abuse of either the wiretap Statute or the Electronic Communication Privacy Act.The Electronic Communication and Privacy Act was created to expand and revise federal wiretapping and electronic eavesdropping provision that will promote the privacy expectation of citizens and the legitimate needs of law enforcement (ECPA,2013)Konop v. Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., 236 F.3d 1035 (9th Cir.2001) This case is about an employee in the name of Robert Konop filed a law suit against his employer Hawaiian Airline for viewing secured website without authorization from him and the content from his website was disclosed. The district court granted summary judgment against him on all claim expect his retaliation under the railway labor Law. In my opinion I believe this case was not fair toward Konop even though with all the law and stipulation his privacy was invading in my point of view.ReferenceThe Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), Part 2: Geolocation Privacy and Surveillance, House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations, April 25, 2013https://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-9th-circuit/1167429...

Defining the Indian Wars Discussion
This week we explored the "Indian Wars" as viewed through Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz' An Indigenous Peoples History of the United States. For this week's discussion board, imagine that you are describing this conflict to another student who is not a member of this class and using Dunbar-Ortiz's text explain to them the answers to the following questions: What was the root cause of this conflict? Who were the players? How many factions were there? and finally how did the various sides view what was happening? (200 words - Worth 25 points) Then respond to another student's post and suggest how the text either supports or challenges their position. (100 words - Worth 10 Points) Only submissions made directly using the text box and or pdf files will be eligible for credit on this assignment. Rubric: Primary Response: (25 points - 200 words) An A level response (22-25 points) Will engage with all aspects of the prompt, use detailed specifics from the text (including direct citation), and will meet the word count. A B level response (20-21 points) Will represent a good faith effort to complete the assignment, but will fall short in one of the above criteria. A C level response (17-19 points) Will be a response that fails to meet multiple areas of the prompt, and or, one that fails to meet the word count and does not complete one or more of the above mentioned criteria. A D level response (16 points or lower) will fail to complete several of the above mentioned criteria and will be vague and non-specific. A 0 (zero) will be earned for a lack of a post by the due date. Grading within a grade level will be determined by the student's overall level of engagement the prompt and the source material. Response to a fellow student (10 Points - 100 words) An A level response (9-10 points) Will engage with material presented by the author at a significant level, this means more than stating agreement or disagreement, and should include an explanation of how the text helps support or challenges the author's position. A B level response (7-8 points) Represents a good faith by the student to respond to their peer, but is light on details from the text. A C level response (5-6 points) Will be primarily personal opinion unsupported by details from the text.

Florida International University Walmart Inc Balanced Scorecard Report
For this assignment, you must first select an actual company that employs a low-cost strategy. Options include Aldi, Wal-Mart, Spirit Airlines, Motel 6, IKEA, or Nucor Steel. Once you have selected the company, this assignment involves two parts:For Part One of this assignment, conduct an internet search and determine the types of crisis this company has faced in the past. For Part Two you must build a balanced scorecard for the organization. Creating a balanced scorecard is like creating a blueprint for making a company’s mission and vision a reality. When you create a balanced scorecard for this class you must assume the role of a business leader within the company and develop the plan for your company. A balanced scorecard brings together the four (4) main perspectives or areas of a business (Financial, Business Process, Learning & Growth, and Customer) which all play a role in making a company’s mission and vision a reality. Next a balanced scorecard lists objectives, measurable targets, and initiatives for each of the four main areas. These help ensure each of the four areas supports the mission and vision. You will need to make these up as if you led the company. Review the lectures, the balanced scorecard videos, and materials from this module and the last module in this course to ensure you understand the concept. Many companies layout a balanced scorecard differently so I have laid out a blueprint below. You do not need to submit this assignment in a graphical format. A simple word style layout is fine [as a file upload to this dropbox], but you must provide the following:List the organization's Mission and Vision statements (search the web to locate)Then in each of the four main areas (Financial Perspective, Business Process Perspective, Learning & Growth Perspective, Customer Perspective) you must create the following 4 items:Objectives - Develop objectives that will help support the companies mission/vision as it relates to that particular area. There may be more than one in some areas. (FedEx example in the “business process perspective”: To deliver more FedEx basic ground delivery packages on time.)Measures - Develop measures for each objective. (For the above FedEx example this would be % of basic ground packages delivered on time)Targets - Develop Targets for each measure. (For the above FedEx example this might be to reach the following on-time delivery goals: FY 1– 96% on-time delivery, FY 2 96.5% on-time delivery, FY 99% on-time delivery)Initiatives - Develop at least one real-world implementable initiatives for each objective that will help employees reach the targets and ultimately reach the objective, which ultimately makes the company live out its mission/vision. (For the above FedEx example this might be: Offer financial incentives of $100 bonuses to any delivery driver who delivers all packages on-time for an entire month.)To help you understand each of the 4 main areas:Financial Perspective answers the following: “To achieve our goals, how should we appear to our shareholders?”Business Process Perspective answers the following: “To satisfy our customers and stakeholders, at what business process must we excel?”Learning & Growth Perspective answers the following: “To achieve our vision, how will we sustain our ability to change and improve?”Customer Perspective – answers the following: “To achieve our vision, how should we appear to our customers?”)The goal of this assignment is to help you master this important concept. The ultimate goal of this assignment is to allow you to see how well built Balanced Scorecard can help a company live out its mission and see its vision become a reality.*Will tip $5 for good work*

UAG Employee Arbitration Agreements Discussion
10th Justice; Employee Arbitration Agreements
All organizations in the country employ people. Employment laws impact everyone, regardless if you are actively employed or not. As employers continue to control costs associated with claims from employees, employers have commonly turned to arbitration agreements. These agreements normally require employees to waive any right or protection afforded by joining a class action and instead forces each individual employee to take the claims before an individual arbitration. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) decided this year in Epic Systems Corp. v. Lewis by a narrow margin of 5-4 that employers could enforce these arbitration agreements.
In your assignment this week please explain why the court got this correct AND explain why the court was wrong. Lastly, if you were the 10th justice how would you vote and why?
